Word History
back-formed combining suffix abstracted from the adverb GENUINELY by severing the head element and retaining the terminal -uinely. In its inaugural compounding the truncated stem of LOWKEY was fused to genuinely to yield lowkenuinely (lowke- + -[gen]uinely); the residue -uinely was thereafter generalized as a productive terminal element capable of suffixing to, or being infixed within, an open-ended series of names, slang particles, and intensifiers.
